Fashion: A Few Of My Favorites Part 1

I am inspired by many things day to day and this has really helped me garner and shape my personal aesthetic and style. Designers have always been such an important part of fashion, cultivating a look or feel for a collection. They are my “celebrities” and the people I look to for their creativity, dedication, passion and above all else, uniqueness. Here are a few of my favourites in a five part series.

Phoebe Philo
I have been a Philo fan for some time now. She has done amazing work at Chloe (1997-2006) and has brought a diminishing fashion house back to the forefront of fashion with Celine. I admire her passion and adore her simplistic modern designs. I have especially fallen head-over-heels for the Celine classic flap bag, or as most people know it, the box bag. It's so simple, yet so elegant and highly coveted by the fashion world.
One of my favourite things about what Philo has done at Celine would be the use of leather and the streamlined shapes put into the collections. The collections are always extremely wearable and have become major eye candy once spotted on an editor or fashion elite. I am disappointed that such an amazing and successful brand is increasingly hard to find in North America. Hopefully sometime in the near future, LVMH will realize the potential customer here in Canada.
